French developer Motion Twin has announced the first DLC pack for Dead Cells is entitled ‘The Bad Seed’ and will arrive on 11 February.

The pack in question will feature two new areas called The Arboretum and The Swamp. The former is described as “a relaxing and peaceful greenhouse inhabited by a peaceful clan of mushrooms, with an understandable desire to murder the Beheaded.” Sounds very relaxing indeed…

As for The Swamp, it is reportedly “a noxious environment ruled by a band of tree dwelling mutants with pointy sticks, sneaky dart shooting frogmen and a bunch of deadly bloodsuckers.” The two new levels and the baddies therein are alternatives to The Courtyard / Toxic Sewers and The Ramparts / Ossuary / Ancient Sewers, with the boss fight designed to be on par with The Concierge - so it should add a little extra zest to your early game runs.

The DLC pack will cost $4.99, and is being released to support further development of the game, as well as future expansions. You can check out a trailer for it - featuring a badass looking scythe - below.
