We got a bunch of new announcements from Yacht Club Games this week, with a new Shovel Knight puzzle game in the offing, as well as updates on Cyber Shadow and Shovel Knight Dig.

But what about Shovel Knight? Treasure Trove was officially completed with the arrival of Shovel Knight Showdown earlier this year, but a true sequel to the game is something Yacht Club are definitely considering.

Speaking in an interview at PAX East, Yacht Club’s artist Sandy Gordon said that “sure that’ll happen at some point: it’s something we talk about a lot” and that Shovel Knight 2 will “absolutely” happen at some point.

Treasure Trove itself gave us absolutely tons of shovelling action, but we’d definitely be down for a true blue sequel to 2014’s Independent Game of the Year.
