Last year saw the release of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD on Switch (and other systems) as the classic 3D platformer got a bit of a facelift for modern platforms. We enjoyed our time with it, describing it as “packed with personality that feels authentic and fun to this day.” Now, developer Krome are looking to repeat the trick with its sequel.

They’ve once more taken to Kickstarter to fund the project of bringing Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD to consoles, with Switch the number one goal for the developer.

Happily, they’ve already smashed their $75,000 target, and are well on the way to hitting the first stretch goal, adding brand new skins into the game.

Krome state on the campaign page that they plan to fully utilise the Switch Joy-Con’s motion controls in the port, which should make firing off your ‘rangs a lot easier, as well as “dynamic shadows, water reflection, adaptive brightness, enhanced draw distances and enhanced textures and particle effects in handheld mode.”

You can back the project for $25 (about £19) to secure your copy of the game, though there are various tiers featuring everything from board shorts to a custom designed Ty character in your own likeness within the game if you feel like splashing a little extra cash.

The campaign has 13 days left to run, with the aim being to have shipped all versions of the game by July this year. Check it out and let us know if you’re backing it down in the comments!
