Given the global juggernaut that was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it’s probably not all that surprising to learn that the Switch itself sold like gangbusters in 2020.

In the UK in fact, the Switch’s sales totals in the UK are reportedly equivalent to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S combined. Now, some of those consoles were at the end of their lifecycles and supply issues hampered the newer ones but still, that’s a pretty impressive feat.

Switch owners are apparently most likely to own another console too, so it’s likely that a fair chunk of those PlayStation and Xbox owners also have a Switch dock sat under the TV.

Whilst the idea of a ‘console war’ seems very much outdated these days, it’s still great to see the Switch performing so strongly.
